Swelling and Pain in Feet and Ankle

I'm a female, age 24 and I have been having swelling in my feet and ankles for the past 11 years. I live in Jamaica, I've been to many doctors both here and US about the issue. When I was about 12 or so I fell and fractured my right knee, I did physiotherapy but ever since my right ankle swells and hurts way more than my left foot. From time to time my left knee cap slips out and hurts but slips back in almost instantaneously after.

I've gained alot of weight since I became an adult and now the sole of my feet hurt. I've been making an effort to eat better now though and will be going on the HCG diet soon.

When I get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom I have to hold on to any and everything because the sole of my feet hurt so bad it hurts to move. When my feet swells really bad at the end of the day it hurts to walk up and down the stairs. When I press the top of my foot with my finger it leaves an imprint on my foot for awhile.

I've been put on water pills and done blood tests and other tests. Some doctors say it bad circulation, another said something about my lymphatic glands and a nurse in Manhattan mentioned to me that it looks like Edema.

I'm very frustrated and in pain daily. I'm not sure what exactly I should do. Can I get some advice on this?

All you need to do is drop weight. That is the basic problem. When you gain a lot of weight it puts a lot of pressure of your body. Thats why you are swelling up. Your body is too heavy. Your heart is under a lot of stress with all the extra weight so the only way for you to feel better is to lose weight. Thats all you gotta do. good luck

even if you are on water pills they aren't really going to do you any good unless the underlying problem is understood. have they checked for periphrial artery disease yet?
