Swollen Clit

So for almost a week now I've been having issues with my girl parts, which I've been able to help and almost get rid of the other problems, except one.  One half of my clit is swollen up pretty bad.  It doesn't hurt, but it is tender to the touch.

I had had some weird sores that had formed on the edges of the lips.  They were kindda ***** filled, which I treated using warm compresses, thorough cleanings and neosporin.  That's pretty much cleared up- there are some scabs forming now.  I figure that it may be in relation to those sores, but what I don't understand is why my clit hasn't gotten better like the rest- and why it's only one half of my clit.

Any ideas?

Well my clit has gone down significantly in size and is only slightly swollen now.  Now that it is not so tender- and large- my fiance was able to do a better examine and found some debris- most likely toliet paper- stuck in the clit hood.  Now that it's been cleaned out I imagine it will be back to normal shortly.

Thanks anyway all.

I don't really feel like giving out the details of my sex life.  Suffice it to say that I know I have no STD's.  My concern is NOT for my clearing infection.  I do this quite a bit to myself- picking at wounds and then cause them to be infected.  I do not do it on purpose, but I just can't leave scabs well enough alone.

My only concern is what is happening to my clit and I don't seem to be getting any ideas on it...

have you never had sex with anyone? oral or otherwise? or even been fingered for the matter. because that is the only way you can know for sure that you don't have herpes. even if you use a condom you can still get herpes because it is skin to skin contact not only bodily fluids. i have never hard of dry skin being that bad on your vagina but if that's the case you might want to buy some vagisil moisturizer. i know you said you don't have any money or insurance so you might want to go to health clinic (they are usually either free, or payment is based on your income) and get checked out.

Elaborating on the sores... I know I caused an infection of sorts with the lips.  I have been battling with dry, peeling skin on the edges of the lips that I constantly picked at and opned up, allowing an infection to cause the puss sores.  My thing is what's causing half my clit to swell.  If it were simply an infection stemming off the sores, a) why hasn't it gone down too, and b) why would it only be half my clit?  I just want to know what's going on as it's starting to worry me.  And before I receive the obvious answer, I do not have insurance nor the money to go see my gyno for something I have no clue is actually a problem or not.

No it can't be herpes.  And no flu like symptoms or trouble urinating.  I know that it is no kind of STD.

I'm no expert but the sores, especially the fact that they scabbed up, sounds like genital herpes. The swollen clitoris may be due to this too. Does it burn when you urinate? Have you had any flu like symptoms lately? These are additional symptoms of herpes that may occur during an outbreak.
Again, I'm not sure but your best bet is to be seen by a physician. Good luck!
