I normally do not wear tampons for that fact I
Oh......sorry, it's out!! Just didn't know if there is anything I could do to make sure I DON'T get an infection or worse. Was wondering if douching might help? No signs of anything so probably just being a worrier! But OMG, do I feel like a dummy....25 years of using tampons and this is the first time I have done this. Good to know, though, that I am not the only one
Thanks
how long was it in there? either way do NOT douche. that can flush bacterial upwards causing infection. besides our bodies have its own way of cleansing itself so no need to do anything. i would say its fine as long as its out. i know someone who had it in there for a month! odor kicked in but that was about it. can you imagine??
Thanks! Feeling much better about the whole (dumb) situation.
I'd just leave it alone. Our bodies are 'self cleaning', lol. If you develop symptoms of an infection (itching, burning, scent, etc.), then see your doctor. Otherwise, don't worry about it. TSS is unbelievably rare - that much is certainly nothing to worry about :-) And I second Ocean's advice NOT to douche. That's always a bad idea.
this has happened to many of us but what do you mean once you realized it did you do anything special? like celebrate? LOL! seriously, you cannot leave a tampon in there for over 8 hrs or you could get a nasty infection/terrible odor or worse, toxic shock symdrome (rare but can happen). i posted last week if you look below. i couldnt find the tampon string. are you able to reach it and get it out? if not, scan down below to my post. someone posted a way to squat and it worked for me. let us know if you get it out.
