Thick uterine lining

by Shundivi, Feb 17, 2008 07:29PM
I just had my second hystersonogram and biopsy in 2 years along with 3 pelvic and vaginal ultrasounds in between. My lining always measures anywhere from 12mm to 17mm which it is currently. My doctor just prescibed progesterone. I was reluctant to start progesterone but have started. I'm concerned because I have breast cyst and  family history of breast cancer and I am currently being monitored by a breast surgeon every 6 months. I'm leaning towards a hysterectomy but my doctor wants me to hold off because I just turned 52 and will likley start menopause before too long.  I'm concerned that while I wait that uterince cancer my be brewing as a result of consistently thick lining. Does anyone have any thoughts or experince with this sort of situation?
