Thrush advice needed

by venusi, Oct 14, 2008 01:52PM
I was told that the coating on my tongue which looks like a furry white coating on my tongue was thrush because I also had a sore tonsil with white spots on it.  I was given 150mg of fluconazole and some Nystatin solution to take, however, I have got worse.  I am also being treated for vaginal thrush - which seems to be calming down.  However, my throat and back of my tongue are now quite swollen.  It is not sore at all, it feels like a dry sensation in my throat sometimes, and I am getting a lot of hiccupping, burping etc... could this swelling be the thrush worsening or is this more liklely to be reflux causing the swelling etc...?  As far as I know, I have a reasonable immune system, if I catch cold I can get rid of it in two days, so I cannot understand why thrush would hang onto me like this despite medication.  Is it possible that it's reflux causing these probs?
