Two Uteri

So I was just told I have 2 uteri and 2 cervixes (sorry not sure if the right plural for that one).  How rare is this?  It is NOT a sepetated uterus but rather 2 independently functioning uteri - one on TOP of the other - they are not even next to one another.  This was discovered during a hysteroscopy.  Should make future PAP smears all that more comfortable, no?

I had uteri and cervices.  The uteri were next to each other.  Got pregnant in one side and was told under no circumstances to get pregnant in the other side..UGH!!!  I also came down with nephrotic syndrome (kidney disease) during pregnancy which complicated things even more.

As for the PAP, NOT SO MUCH, you will be graced with two every year.  One in each.  It wasn't fun!

HI
my partner and I have been trying for a baby for about 9 months when we thought something may be wrong so I went and seen a specialist and we found out that I have two Uterus and a vaginal septate which goes all the way up to my cervix, my two uterus are full sized uterus and completely separate. because they are full sized I have been told that I can carry to full term with no problems at all. I also had my kidneys checked as u may end up with only one or two or even three kidneys but I only have two so thats a bonus hehe  although I was told this will not make me infertile at all. on top of this being special :-) we found that what is causing me to not fall pregnant is I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and that causes my weight gain and then I dont ovulate properly so I have to loose about 15 kilo to be able to start ovulating or releasing mature eggs that can become fertile which is harder to do than u think even with the insentive of wanting a baby, as the PCOS causes my body to make to much insulin and not break down sugar, but we are staying posItive and gonna keep trying and would like to just let everyone know that has the same thing that we should just keep smilling and one day we will have our own little bundle of joy :-)

If your period stopped and you have not had sexual intercourse, you need to see a physician. It is possible to become pregnant twice, but only at the same time, like having fraternal twins, just one in each uterus. You cannot become pregnant while you are already pregnant because hormones prevent ovulation even in separate uteri

I was born with two uteri, two cervix, one kidney and spina bifida.  When I first started having my period the right uterus had no where to drain to so it just got all clogged in that uterus.  They had to do a procedure to un clog the unterus and make a draining tube for the blood. I was wondering about getting pregnant is it really hard is it worth trying?  Will the baby survive.  I would like to know about other peoples experiences and if they have any other problems like me.

I have 2 uterus and 2 cervix. I was ref'd to fertility specialist after not conceiving for 1.5 yrs.I was then told I have septate uterus. He had me on Clomid and I got preg on the 3rd cycle.Unfortunately it was ectopic, and during it's removal my gyn confirmed that I have completely separated uterus. They are side by side, one is slightly larger than the other. The problem is that the side where I had ectopic, the tube is removed as it ruptured. That cervix  was in the right place. The uterus on my left side has the cervix on the wall of the vagina and it is hard for sperm to enter. I had 2 IUI no luck yet but will definetly try again. I was told that I can't carry in both uterus as the body goes by hormones. And will most likely have a premature baby thru C-section. Good luck to u.

Ive seen a lady on tv who had 2 uteri, 2 cervixes and 2 vaginas. When she was in her teens she had the 2 vaginas made into one. She had very heavy periods and 2 sets of ovaries. She had tried for years to get pregnant and then ended up pregnant in both uteri! She had to have a c section cos obviously the uteri were smaller than the average one so the drs were worried they would kinda run out of space (prob more to it cant remember exactly now) but she had 2 heathy babies, twins but not! Quite amazing! Rare to my knowledge but nothing wrong with it, I suspect u may be in for some good stories to tell in the future!

All the best!

I went in for an ultrasound and was talking to the tech, and he said he had just the previous week seen a young woman and she had two uterii, two cervixes and it almost seems to me he said two vaginas, though that was something of a surprise.  It's heard of, but certainly rare!  Wonder what it means for periods.  Congratulations on having very unique construction!
