Were the other periods before on time and normal? Maybe you need a stronger pill. Try not to miss any pills. It just sends your body the wrong message and it can mess up your cycle a bit, plus the effectiveness goes down. I would give it one more month, and if it happens again, call your doctor. Being on the pill, your period should be just about like clock work. Same time, every month. Unless, you don't take the pills as directed.
Whoops. I meant to post my previous post to Punkybear. Sorry for the confusion. I know that antibiotics can interfere with the effectiveness of the pill. Are you on the pill? It may have reduced the effectiveness of the bc pill and maybe that is why you are spotting. Give a call to your pharmacist or doc and see what they say.
I had that from my birth control..i bled for motnhs straight...i actually just had a blood transfusion because my hemoglobin drpped to 6 from bleedin all that time and my GYN said it was normal..im goin to a new GYN now
antibiotics should have zero effects on your menstrual cycle, so i'm gonna guess it has nothing to do with the meds your taking, maybe your period is just starting earlier than usual, it does happen.any chance of cysts or fibroids? that causes bleeding in between cycles.Sorry i couldnt be of more assistance, and i hope it gets better.
I was on a strong antibiotic and the same thing happened to me about 2 years ago... I don't know what zithomax is but it is probably a strong one... and antibiotics mess up your birth control that is why they tell you to use a back up method... I called the doctor freaking out when it happened to me... and they explained it all to me.. and said I shouldn't worry if it continued the next month then come in and they would check it out... so you probably have nothing to worry about... it could be different in your situation... I just wanted to let you know that I went through the same thing...
Hope it gets better soon!
