My doctor is currently running tests on my urine and should get back to me soon. I have had a UTI in the past.
I have not had any pain throughout and the urge to pee has slowly gotten better. The medicine has not turned my urine orange.
Do any STD's cause urges to urinate that slowly go away? I'm so confused as to what this could be.
Hi there and welcome. A UTI is painful. You do have an urge to urinate but then what happens is that it is a bit difficult to do so and as the pee comes out and drains it becomes burning/painful near the end. Almost unbearably so.
Now, did your dr. culture you? That is the standard of care and then they see if the culture grows even if negative at the time of the test. I had a negative test in office but within 24 hours the culture grew positive. That is the standard most doctor's offices use.
To me, this doesn't really sound like a UTI The doctor gave you the pills that turn urine orange and help with pain?
I guess if you continue to have an issue, then go to the doctor again. You need a confirmed positive culture to take antibiotics I you've never had a UTI before. I did start antibiotics before the culture turned positive but that was because I had had a UTI before and knew what was going on.
good luck
