Undiagnosed symptoms

Ever since I started having sex with a new partner, often (not every time) I develop infection-like symptoms a couple of days later (swelling, itching, discharge).  I saw my gynecologist about it and he said that it was not an infection or an STD (my partner was a virgin) but due to frictional irritation.  However, I often get these symptoms even when sex feels fine and not irritating at all.  It doesn't feel like just frictional irritation from being sore.  Is there anything my doctor is overlooking?  What could this possibly be?  Thank you!

Are you using a condom, sometimes what the condom is made of or the spermicide that they use can irriate you or maybe you are allergic to it.

Red Rose, do you feel irritation during sex or do you just experience the swelling after?  I have experienced irritation during sex and had symptoms after, but even without any physical discomfort during the act I sometimes experience swelling and discharage for a few days after.  I don't think he's being too rough.  Not to be explicit, but usually I'm on top and have control, so the pace is fine for me.  However, he is, um, larger than my previous partner so maybe that accounts for the irritation...it's just weird that I'm experiencing these symptoms even without any discomfort during sex.  Let me know what you think....thanks!

Hi Without seeming too forward, is he rough? As in urm u know what I mean fast rather than slow (man this is sounding all wrong!) Because sometimes I get a bit swollen when DH has been a bit rough (DH does mean dear husband rite lol) so I think its just that. Generally from what I can tell std and infections show up I cant think what else it could be? Maybe just ask him to take it a bit easy for a bit and see if theres any improvement?

Take care
