Unsure

I'm 17. Only one vagina lip ( the little inside one) is swollen, irritated, and down right scarry looking. I have only had unprotected sex once and that was almost three months ago. If those events are not related ( which I reallly hope are not... ) what are other common causez for what my symptom is? How should I treat it? And how can I prevent this from ever occuring again?
