Unusual spotting?

This is actually a few questions in one...

I had unprotected sex three days before my period began. He pulled out about a 30 second before he came. I had a normal period (7 days long, medium bleeding) which began a few days before expected, but my periods don't always start the day I believe they will. Always within the same week, though, so this one was on track.

Six days after my period ended I began to bleed, very lightly, the same color blood that happens when I menstruate. It lasted for four days then stopped. It's about this time that I usually ovulate, the 13-16th day of my cycle. I had no cramping or other symptoms, but I never do when I menstruate either.

I'm new to checking cervical position, but my cervix is high, partially open (? Iffy on how to tell if it's open...), and a little to the left. I think it's hard? There is also very little mucus and what mucus is there is tacky and opaque white and does not stretch. Is this normal for after ovulation but before menstruation?

I have never spotted before, ever. Not before or after my expected period. It seems unlikely to me I would be pregnant since one is infertile for a bit before menstruation begins (which is when I had sex), but the spotting is new and I'm curious. I know that some women spot during ovulation, but as I said, I never have--any advice?

Also, I am due for my period sometime between tomorrow and the 10th. Would spotting make me late?

Also...unrelated...but what does dpo stand for?

'one off' means it only happens once and then everything goes back to normal.

I'm not on any contraceptives at the moment, no, so it wouldn't be spotting from that.

What do you mean by a "one off"?

dpo is days post ovulation.

You're not pregnant if you had a normal period after your unprotected sex and the timing of it makes it unlikely as well.

Around ovulation you get thin, clear, copious, stringy, 'fertile' mucous.  At other times you either have none or very little and it's thick and opaque.  So it's likely that this is the type of mucous you will have before you menstruate.

No idea why you might've spotted this time.  It could be due to hormones and it may be a one off.  Also no idea as to whether it would make you 'late'.  Are you on any contraceptives?  The spotting may be related to that, especially if you've started a new brand or type.

It's probably nothing to worry about but if it happens next month or you don't get your period, it may be worth getting a check up.
