Update: test postive

Hi everyone, I posted a question here before saying that I'm about 2 weeks late but I don't have any major symptoms. Only very sore breasts. well I still have the sore breasts. But I finally did a home pregnancy test. Clear Blue Pregnancy Test. The test was positive and very Dark +. My friend did the same test and she had a faint + but she's still pregnant. So I called my doctor and she said that I don't need to see her until I'm 12 weeks pregnant, which is 6 weeks away. And she gave me appointment for a ultrasound at 11 weeks. This is my first pregnancy and i'm not sure what I should be doing in the first 12 weeks before i go see my doctor. I've been taking materna vitamins and folic acid like my doctor told me. But other than that i'm not sure. I've stopped drinking coffee. I drink one or two cups of very light tea a day and try to eat healthy like more veg and fruits. I APPRECIAT ANY ADVICE ANYONE CAN GIVE ME.
Thanks, Mary

I develop an aversion to coffee and lattes while pg, something very strange for me ; ) Strangely enough, I do enjoy a pepsi now and then. Rather than eliminating caffeine while pg, I seem to replace how I get it. Just as long as you keep your intake low-moderate, you should be fine.

Congrats again!

Actually most docs will say they would rather you drink caffeinated coffee over decaf as the process to make the coffee decaf involved a lot of chemicals. You can have a few drinks with caffeine, but I wouldn't suggest drinking coffee and soda all day : ) Two cups of coffee or two cups of regular tea should not pose a problem.

i would also try and take it easy on the tea too. Try to drink only one a day or do decaf. and you can do decaf coffee if you really like to drink it. Drink lots of water. Good luck on everything.

Do not use any topical treatments like lotions or cleansers with retinol or vitamin A, avoid raw meats/fish/cheeses, do not use any herbal remedies while pg unless approved by your doctor, only drink pastuerized products, watch the chemical exposure to things like pesticides/cleaners/gardening treatments, etc.
