I am a 45 year old woman and am considering using an herbal product to increase size and firmness in my breasts. It's a 100% natural product using saw palmetto, wild mexican yam, fenugreek, and fennel seed extracts. Will this pose any danger to my breast health, especially since I'm prone to benign cysts? Any input is appreciated.
Iwanttobeamom is right. Unfortunately, no herbs will help your breasts grow. You might consider implants if it means that much to you. However, I think I'd try to appreciate your body as it is. Small breasts are great. You can go braless, you can wear tight tshirts, slim clothes... there are a lot of benefits to smaller breasts :-)
I'm no expert, but I've been doing some reading about estrogen dominance, which is a hormonal imbalance, with potentially dangerous side effects/results, including cancer. These herbs that you listed are known to be estrogen boosting phytoplanktons, which, (as everything in life) are beneficial when used in moderation, but harmful, if overused. The reason they may work to a certain degree to increase your breastsize is because estrogen is what causes your breasts to be swollen.
I'd be very very cautious in taking megadoses of anything that will affect my hormonal balance. You could be setting yourself up for an "imbalanced" state.
The herbs in the product are mild herbs but you should research each one before using them. Some herbs are contraindicated in the presence of certain health conditions or in combination with OTC drugs or prescriptions (for example, birth control should not be taken with wild yam or saw palmetto).
I have personally used fenugreek, fennel and wild yam (used the fenugreek and fennel during breastfeeding and the wild yam due to hormonal imbalance after several miscarriages). This herbal combination works partly because fenugreek and fennel are galactgogues...they enourage swelling of the milk ducts in the breasts. I personally experience breast enlargement when using fenugreek (I have extremely small breasts to begin with so I notice even the slightest enlargement).
I have considered using a similar product...not to enhance my breasts but because the herbs are reported to promote hormonal balance. Fenugreek is traditionally used to support estrogen production, Wild Yam to support progesterone production and Saw Palmetto to support testosterone production. These are all female sex hormones. I'm not sure why the product contains fennel...it is a good remedy for colic and other digestive tract spasms though.
Drs generally do not recommend herbs because not much is known about them and herbal products are not FDA regulated (not that the FDA is the end-all when it comes to safety...think Vioxx...ouch!). Anyway, it boils down to what you're comfortable with after reading up on each of the herbs.
My personal opinion is that it's not a harmful product for the average, healthy woman and may promote a slight increase in breast fullness. However, you have to come to that conclusion on your own; everyone's comfort level is different.
I don't know about the effect it may have on your condition. It would be prudent to do some research on it (is your condition fibrocystic?). Many times it's better to be "safe than sorry".
P.S. I have to admit that I'm of the same opinion as monkeyflower...I happen to like having small breasts :)...wouldn't change my breast size even if someone else paid for the surgery. Of course my husband might have a different perspective ;).
My brothers ex-girlfriend used everything she could to make her boobs grow. She's very tiney, size 0, 5'7, turn sideways cant see her, kind of tiney. :-)
She was a barely A cup, and tried took all sorts of herbal pills, suppliments, things like that. They never worked. She tried those infomertial pills too, didnt work.
They say that the herbal pills arnt docter recomended, but neither is smoking, and billions do it anyway.
Either it will work, or it wont, or it will cause side effects.
Breast implants will give you the results you want. SOme people can give you horror stories, but if you find a good reputable doctor, (not the cheapest one) then you should have no problem.
i used a herbal enhancement on my breasts...all natural...my breasts are a 34b...and dropped a little since my first child (15 yrs ago)..after using the cream they swelled a whole cup size...it was awesome!!! the cream was so expensive though. and the person that commented on estrogen increasing breast size, well....an increase of either estrogen or progesterone will increase your breast size and wild yam is to increase progesterone and from what i understand that is not a bad thing and may even prolong your time to get to menopause..and thats a good thing. p.s. drs dont talk about herbs because they cant. they arent educated enough unless they specialize in that. look into ancient chinese medicine. its been around forever and its all natural. good luck
Thanks so much to Kelly and Monkeyflower...both comments were exptremely helpful. As a sidenote, my "problem" is not small breasts, it's sagging breasts. You know, like the Christmas stockings hanging over the fireplace after all the toys are taken out!
Seriously, I am simply wondering if this company that promotes this "miracle" product is a scam...the product is called FeMax and the company goes by the name of Fundamental Solutions. Website is breastfacts.org. I believe the herbs are safe, but they are highly concentrated. It's wrong to assume that simply because it's claimed "all natural" that it's safe. I may have to consult an herbalist to decide whether the level of concentration is risky. I just don't have time to research that area outside the home right now...thanks again to you both.
I started working out to loses a few pounds and the first thing to go was my breasts, i started taking fenugreek just the herb alone, and using skin firming moisturizer (St. Ives works great). and i can both feel my breasts growing and see a difference! Fenugreek is just under $9 at GNC. I did lots of research and started with low doses to make sure my body could handel it. Fenugreek has many health benefits besides incresed cup size. It helps balances and lessen symptoms of pms and menopause, it helps lower cholestrol, helps with lowing blood sugar and helps promote healthy breast tissue which in turn helps prevent breast cancer. i started to see results in two weeks! there are side effects but the only ones i've noticed is my pee smells like maple syrup, and my stools are losser. Somethings you should know while taking fenugreek is to take to at lest 2 hours before or after any other medication. two increase bust size you need to take at least 3,000 mg a day. And to never exceed 5,000 mg a day. Discountinue use after 12 weeks. Hope this is helpful~
if you can naturally increase your hormonal levels by sexual stimulation, i say "do it". it works for me when i am sexually satisfied.
also, if you're unhappy, your estrogen and progesterone levels decrease, which in turn decreases everything that makes you a woman.
enjoy your womanhood... that's my advice, but i'm no doctor. i'm just another woman with small breast that increase in size when i am having great sex with a man that makes me feel like a beautiful woman...
Try Natural Curves (GNC) i heard that is product work in the 1st three months.... but u should see results in the 1st month also."firmness of the breast". Then your breast size should inrceasce in the next few months.
I was surprised to read so many comments from women who didn't have any luck with herbal treatments. I've been using a combination of Fenugreek (610 mg) & Saw Palmetto (one of each, morning & night) for about a month & have definitely noticed a difference. I researched both herbs quite a bit & feel pretty safe taking them (if you're of child-bearing age, you shouldn't take Saw Palmetto though). I think I'm using a "lower dosage" than some people suggested & I've still noticed quite a difference.
I have been taking different herbs specifically to balance hormones. Fenugreek and saw palmetto are two of them. I see no problem in taking any of these as long as you read on each one first, make sure that you are getting the pure herb and not some mixture. I found that getting all the herbs from a place like the vitamin shop is a lot better and cheaper then trying the herbal breast enhancers also. along with those two herbs I also take, **** Quai, DHEA, Red Clover, Black Cohosh and Blessed thistle. Make sure that if you do take any prescriptions that you check to make sure that the herbs will not block them.
I am from the uk and started using fenugreek after having children to regain volume loss in my breasts I bought ot from holland and barrett and found that the people at customer services were REALLY HELPFUL IN ADVISING ME. I used it for 2 months and gradually noticed a definate 1 cup fullness and my breasts felt heavier even my patner noticed and I still have not told him what I am using. I stopped taking them for a month to see what happens and the volume i gained i lost so have been retaking them for a month and a half so far and fullness has definately come back. I want people to know this as I know what it is like to want bibbger breasts and this 100% has worked for me. JULY 2012
i started doing the boost your bust program which tells you to take saw palmetto, fenugreek, and red clover. after taking these i had a horrible allergic reaction. I HAD TO CALL POISON CONTROL! i was scared i was gonna die for two days. to think my vanity over my breasts could have killed me if i kept taking these herbs. i say just be be happy with the way you are and if a man doesnt want you because you have small boobs then the hell with him
a lot of women don't take them for others approval it's because they are not comfortable or happy with the way things have changed, you had an allergic reaction doesn't mean everyone else will and surgery could lead to death also. I say try natural before going to such extremes.
Fenugreek has been very successful for me. After having children and in my very early 50 I did not want surgery. I'll leave that for the 20-30 year old's :)
After researching and researching on line as to the numerous benefits of Fenugreek for women's breast health, lowering cholesterol were two topics of importance to me. For the first time in years I was not on the boarder of High Cholesterol ---WOW. Could it be the Fenugreek. I've never been a high fatty food person and I rarely eat red meat.
And within a few days my breasts became firmer and fuller. BINGO I have hit the jack pot.
Also I checked with my pharmacy to be 100percent sure Fenugreek would not interact with my HP meds'. Nope.
Please educate yourself by looking for documentation about any herb you decide to take and ask your pharmacy too for interaction concerns if you have any.
This is not true. The right combination of herbs can lead to breast growth. It is different for everyone woman, so taking fenugreek alone may not work. There are forums dedicated to breast enhancement (breastnexus) where women have documented their success with herbal supplements.
