Vagina area smells like body odor

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I have.
Im 20 years old and lately I've noticed that my vagina smells like body odor, the same kind of smell under arms smell like when sweating and no deodorant. I dont know why all of a sudden I smell like this. After paying close attention to it for about the last few weeks I've noticed that it only smells when I wear skirts or dresses all day. When I wear shorts I dont have the problem. Can anyone relate to this or know what may be causing it? Could this be from sitting at a desk all day with my thighs touching and causing them to sweat? Anything would help! Thanks.

So I finally found the solution to this smell. To get rid of it try these few things trust me, mine worked it 2 days.

1) buy white cotton only underwear. Wash twice prior to drying and use unscented laundry wash.
2) order apple cidar vinger pills. Take two pills in AM and two in pm.
3) trim down there like there's almost no hair.
4) take optimum 90 billion for woman's vagina flora.
5) shower before bed I mean quick rinse.
6) use unscented tampons. Use unscented pads. Smell messes with the ph balance.

Give yourself two weeks. And the smell will be gone.

The sweat glands at the top inside of the legs are quite strong, and will pass through the smells of a lot of the food that you eat.  (Onions are an example.)  It could be from sitting with your thighs together, just the same way as armpit sweat would be increased if you sat in a warm coat and kept your arm clamped down.  Best thing you can do is try various ways of washing the skin, even (a friend I know does this) to the extent of swabbing your upper inside thighs (*not* the vagina!) with original-formula Listerine, which has a lot of menthol and eucalyptus and other natural ingredients for cutting skin bacteria.

Also make sure you are waxing or cutting your pubic hair. Hair holds odor. Make sure that you are cleaning your vaginal area with a clean towel that doesn’t have dyes. Bring hypoallergenic feminine wipe or any other kind of wipes with you do you can freshen up throughout the day. Wear cotton underwear and a panty liner in your underwear when your out and about

Try drinking tea in the morning and add 2-3 cap fulls of Bragg’s all natural apple cider vinegar. You can add an all natural honey with the tea.ACV helps to balance your PH. Also try taking 1 probiotic daily. It worked for me!

Firstly, stop wearing pantihose and nylon panties. When you get home put on a kaftan but leave your underwear off, shower with unscentec soap tsice per day...mornig and night and after sex. Do not use antibacterial soap on your vulva (the area from the pubic area to the top of your buttocks. Do not put douches in your vagina. Take moist tissues with you to use when you use the toilet. Keep yourself clean and dry. Trim your pubic hzir. You can also try some anti persperant on your inner thighs.

The easiest and cheapest way to get rid of the odor is to:

1. Shower everyday &
While in the shower wash your outer vagina 2 times, once with bar soap and again with  sensitive anti-oil soap or
anti-oil facewash

2. Buy feminine wipes or sensitive face wipes aka cleansing facial wipes
(not for makeup removal)

3. Gently wipe your outer vagina  2-3 times throughout the day.

Also, Try to only wear cotton underwear and avoid thongs.
This should remove all traces of smell within 3 days.

It can be caused by a build up of sweat down there which creates a moist environment creating a build up of bacteria making it smell musty or like body odour
Hope I could help

I found that this smell is caused by bacteria living on the skin. Use a fresh lemon and apply it to the area followed by Apple Cider Vinegar before a shower. This completely removed any smell from me (used in the vaginal area as well as underarms and feet). It just requires upkeep, once a week or so.

It's not your vagina its just the thighs that fold like the arm pit. Get summers eve wipes and clean yourself during the day. What underwear are you wearing during that time? Dont wear thongs or small cheeky underwear. get underwear more like boy shorts together folds not touch as much. Use a natural deodorant between your legs like Schmidt's deodorant. Wear long dresses so you can sit with your legs a part and let the area air out a little.

I have have the same issue. And no it's not an std or bacterial infection. It's coming from the crease of our inner thighs. I'm thinking it has something to do with our sweat glands. I've been to the doctor and everything is perfect internally. I'm still looking for answers myself.

I read this thread a long time ago but came back to it because last night I had this problem. I have had this issue in the past but last night it was ten times more horrifying and I was wearing a dress!  I wonder if there is legitmately something about the "wearing a dress" part.  I stayed at my friend's house and I literally had to shower and hand-wash my underwear when we got back to her house. Otherwise it would have smelled up her house. That's how strong it was. So disturbing.  This vaginal oH thing is ridiculous. I take probiotics and vinegar tabs but it just comes back if I miss a day.  I don't know why some of us have to keep on it so much.

I tried douching to get rid of my vaginal odor. Terrible idea! Had to go to my gyno. They recommended to me that women should never douche, it messes up the pH in your vagina. Sometimes vaginal odor is a sign of BV, hormones, or it can be a sign of having an STD.

Another forum recommended a product called hibiclens.  It quells the odor, but it irritates my skin.  I got the 4%, maybe that's too strong or I'm using too much, but the BO definitely is minimal. Thought I'd share as some of you may not be as sensitive as me!

I dont have the answer but this is also happening to me. Im only 19 Ill try to eat more fruits and vegetables. I read somewhere to wear cotton underwear and I do but nothing changed. I also read that tight clothing can cause it. Not sure if its true. I would try the antibacterial soap but Im not sure if thats safe. Maybe Im just paranoid. But thanks for all the comments Ill try some.

I have read all of the comments and it has helped a lot.  I am 46 and have the BO/onion smell in between my legs, it is very upsetting.  I will try the non scented deodorant (Dove) or Norforms and hopefully get back to smelling fresher.

lime or lemon are low in sugar...Orange has too much sugar this will off set (neutralize) the acid, only to feed the bacteria..

Body odor is caused from bacterial growth.  Same with that type of smell from the vagina.  I would consider that there is bacteria growing in the folds of skin in that area.  A remedy that could help is to take a small amount of antibacterial hand soap and wash the area (outside the vagina---  do not douche) with it.  This should greatly help and remove that bacteria that is causing the odor.  good luck

I have this issue, only sometimes. I took a shower today around 3pm. At about midnight I noticed the smell was back. I drank a quarter gallon of orange juice today. OJ is highly acidic at a Ph of 3.5. I will trying a lemon or lime to balance out my Ph.

Also, I read the pineapple comment and may try that as well!

Thanks guys!

Breddy's comment makes the most sense of all these.  Smelly bacteria shows itself in an acidic environment.  Why do we have acidic environments?  Because most of us don't get the full servings of fruits and vegetables we're supposed to every day, and the huge majority of them are alkaline.  Alkalinity counters acidity.  You can even take a chlorophyll supplement or a wheatgrass supplement and you will stop having horrid odors - for the same reason - the 'green' in these, the chlorophyll, is what our bodies are lacking because we're not getting enough alkaline fruits and vegetables in our diets.  If only we all ate as well as our ancestors before us - they all ate out of their gardens.  The didn't eat processed foods out of boxes (which are acidic!). Try eating better and/or try the supplements I mentioned.  You won't be disappointed!  The reason Breddy is right on is because lemons and limes convert to alkaline once digested by the body.

Sounds good, but for those of us with acid reflux,  that's going to suck.

I've tried 100 % pure extract coconut oil and jojoba oil, also simple vaseline.  They have only kept the ordor down, when when in the bathroom it's definitely renk and worst when I sweat.  I'm almost at my wits end and gyns and doctors are so goddamned clueless and useless about this issue.  Makes no bloody sense.
