No. Those are not symptoms of herpes.
is there any chance that this could be herpes? That is the only other thing I can think of and that has me terrified, just because of some of the symptoms.
Hi there. Well, let me first say that you are under doctors care so no one on the internet is going to offer you more insight than that. BV can be very resilient and tricky to totally eradicate. Many women have several courses of treatment before it is fully gone. USUALLY BV does not itch. It is not known for that. Do you think you have yeast as well?? Something fungal? You did take an antibiotic (amoxicillin) and those are well known for causing yeast infection. Think about what happens when you take an antibiotic. It kills all flora in your vagina. Bad bacteria and GOOD bacteria. yes, we have good bacteria in our body. The good bacteria is responsible for keeping the overgrowth of yeast from growing. When you kill it off, you get a yeast infection. So, it's hard. You need the bad bacteria of the BV gone but then develop yeast. So, I'd talk to your doctor about treating in succession. Go with the heavy med to rid yourself of the BV and as you complete treatment, begin difulucan for the yeast. One after the other. also, during that time, you can eat probiotic yogurt or take probiotic tablets that are basically adding live cultures of the good bacteria to your system to help you not have an overgrowth of yeast. Wear loose fitting panties, cotton only and change often especially if they become damp from a work out or sweating.
If you have a partner, they too may need to be treated for the BV as it can be passed back and forth. At the very least, always use a condom.
good luck
