Vaginal pain

Well for the past couple of weeks me and my boyfriend would have sex every 3 days or so and it would be kind of rough. Today while i was out my vagina was kind of itch and now it hurts and seems kind of swollen. Im a little worried. Is this normal ? Should I go to the doctor ? Could I have an STD ?

I am a 46 years old woman and diabetic. Last month the right part of my vagina was swollen but gone on its own. Now it came back again. This time it is very painful. I cannot walk & sit. I haven't had sex for the last 5 months, so it didn't come from sex. I have seen my GP and she told me that is normal for diabetic patients and women at my age, due to hormone change. Thus she prescribed me antibiotic which didn't help. Can you help please?

Hello,

It could just be irritated from the amount of sex and the roughness of the sex.  Lack of lubrication could contribute as well.  I'd give it a rest for a week and see how it goes, but it doesn't sound like an STD, it sounds like more of an irritation.  If there's any foul odor, off colored discharge, or sores that occur, then I'd definitely see a doctor.  Good luck to you :)
