Very concerned

Should I rush my father to the emergency room? In Dec. 15 2011, he had open heart surgery and a bypass, he is also diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer that has metastisized over his entire body. He advised for over one week he has experienced pain in his right leg and both feet are swollen. The only way he is able to sleep is if he sits up, because if he lays down, or elevate his feet he experiences extreme pain. He felt the issue was associated with a pinched nerve he had in his back, yet he is no longer experiencing pain in his back.

Scale of 8! What concerns me is his tolerance for pain is extremely high...example after his 10 hour heart surgery he only took pain medication after the first two days!!!!

Why don't you just call his Heart Dr. and explain your concern. He will be able to guide you...Good luck...Hope he feels better soon..
