Vitex/Chaste Tree Berry: Does it matter when I start taking it?

I have endometriosis, fibrocystic breasts, severe PMS, and other estrogen dominance problems. Hubby and I have been TTC unsuccessfully for #1 for about 4 yrs. I've had laproscopy for endo and did a full course of lupron depot in the past. Nothing done or recommended by my gynecologist has helped me.
On to my question...What day of your menstrual cycle do you start taking vitex to even out hormones? During AF or after ovulation? I've searched the net, and got a lot of different answers. Also, if anyone has had success conceiving after leveling out hormones with vitex and/or progesterone cream, I'd like to hear all about it. BTW, I am on day 2 of cycle today.
Thanks!

Okay, I started my Vitex two days ago, and I've had uterine twitches since I started. I'm only on day 6, which is usually an easy, endo-free part of my cycle. I've kinda told myself that the vitex is getting my reproductive organs back into shape, and that's why I'm feeling the twitching. Anyone had this? I guess there is a possibility (very slight) that I'm pregnant. My period only lasted about a day and a half, and I usually have a long, heavy 5-6 days. I did have bad cramps, sore breasts though(which stopped hurting after AF arrived), and a negative test. I expected a light AF, due to progesterone crm usage from day 7 to day 28 to take a break from ovulating, so pregnancy is highly unlikely. Does vitex cause uterine contractions?

Thanks, Greenpixie! I looked up lunaception and it makes sense--I like to do things the natural way, and I've often wondered if my hormonal problems are linked to my erratic sleep patterns, and spending hours up late at night in artificial light. My only concern is that I have a lot of problems sleeping with any light in my room, so that might take a couple months to adjust to. Also, I can just about imagine the look on my husband's face when I tell him I'm trying to align my monthly cycles with the cycles of the moon. Oh, well. He already thinks I'm a little "out there." I'm excited to try it right away, because the next full moon is April 13th, which is day 14 of my cycle. Wish me luck!

I think you should start being able to take it now.  You may also want to try acupuncture and lunaception.  I got my BFP the first cycle that I used lunaception.  Do a search on it, it's quite interesting even though it sounds like a joke.
