Washing Hair A Lot

by hosamaly, Sep 22, 2008 08:18PM
Hello,

During the coming two or three weeks, my wife will have to wash her hair (fully) possibly 3-4 times a day, every day. We are both worried about this situation, and how it might affect her hair health. I'd like to know what effect this could have on her hair health, and whether there is something we can do to avoid any harm?

Thank you,

Thanks for your answer, but it would be nice if you don't use all caps...

It's a necessity, so it is not something that can be avoided. Is there a way to avoid hair dryness? Perhaps some shampoo?

Try a shampoo that is for dry & damaged hair. This way her hair won't dry out too much. And a little conditioner won't hurt if she is able to use it.

It will try her hair, yes, I used to wash my hair everyday, when I used to be a cook and my hair turned to straw.  My hairdresser told me that it was harmful because I was depleting my hair of all the natural oils hair produces, to protect it.  So, I went to washing it maybe 3 times a week sometimes 4.  If your wife needs to wash her hair that much, than my suggestion would be to buy Aveda products, you'll spend more money but Aveda is made with all natural products, and smells amazing, they also have a leave in conditioner that I use all the time now, (since I straighten my hair and use a blow dryer everyday) it keeps my hair healthy  and it's never dried out.  So, spend the extra buck, your wife will thank you.

If you don't want to spnd too much money, "Garnier Fructis" is a good choice. But is you are willing to spend a little more, "Matrix Biolage Fortifying Shampoo" or  Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrating Shampoo" are both great.

Thanks again! :)
I think I'll go for the better ones. My wife's health is more expensive than money!
But how do these products compare to each other? Aveda vs. Matrix Fortifying vs. Matrix Ultra?
