Weaning off the pill affects

Recently, within the last few weeks, i have been very busy with work and forgot to take my pills. After a day here and a day there my boyfriend and I decided I would stop taking the pill all together. I have been on the pill for about 4 years and this is the first time I have ever missed a pill. I had my last pill on Friday, it is now Tuesday and after my boyfriend and I made love, i realized i was spotting light brown discharge. We have had sex the last 4 nights in a row and this is the first sign of any reaction to being off the pill. Is there any way that I could be pregnant still, if I was? Or what? I'm really not sure what to make of this. He and I have been trying to conceive but i am just not sure what this means-- And i am definitely not sure if this could be a possible early period? Any help?
