What are these white bumps on the shin of my leg and how do I make them go away?
I have these little round bumps that have developed on the shin of my right leg. They are perfectly round bumps ranging on the small size side, none bigger than the size of an eraser. They are risen up from my skin and if I were to scratch them (even though they do not itch) they peel off like a scab revealing a red circle of raw skin which doesn't bleed. I can't afford to see a dermatologists and I met with a Nurse Practitioner who said that they were razor bumps. I used 'Nair' and 'bump remover' to avoid the razor bump issue and they haven't gone away. It actually seems as though I have more little bumps than before. I'm naturally an olive complexion and the bumps are white so they stand out even more. Any tips, advice, or suggestions on curing them or what they are would be great! Thank you so much.

Hey Taylor!

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of the bumps. Possibilities that may need to be considered include infections, folliculitis, cysts, ingrown hair etc. You could try using OTC antibiotic ointment such as framycetin and see if this seems to help. If you do not notice any improvement, I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician or a dermatologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
