White Bumps in Vaginal Area - Please share your thoughts

Hi Everyone:

I know I have read a post that asks a question similar to mine awhile ago and I searched for it first before posting this, but I couldn't find it again.

I have noticed some white bumps that are on the outside of my vagina, moreso on the lips.  I don't have an infection and I don't have any STD's of any kind.  THese bumps are hard and white and do not hurt to touch.  They don't seem to be ingrown hairs because those are usually inflamed or filled with a pus.  These are just....there.

I do shave almost everything "down there" so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.  I also have some of these bumps on my butt crack...this is so embarassing to talk about.  The only reason I can is because this is the internet and you guys have no idea who i am!  haha.

Anyways, these bumps have been there for awhile and while they do not present an obvious problem or threat to my health, I am curious as to what they could be and how I can get rid of them.  Please share your thoughts!

I have the same thing and it's not warts, I went to the obgyn and he says they are cysts and can be popped. I have around six. I have had a hard time popping them though, because they are hard and kind of roll under the skin when I try, but they are embarrassing to me, I don't want my husband to see me in the light because of them. I know wut you are going through let me know if you find a way to get rid of them

I have had the same problem and after searching the net for a long time have found what it is. They are called fordyce spots and are small, painless, raised, pale or white spots or bumps 1 to 3 mm in diameter. Have a look on wikipedia to get further information and google it for images. I was sure i had something going on down there and was worried abuot herpes or warts but didnt think it looked like them, but this is definitely it.

Omg girl ur post eased my mind 100%. I was at work on an 8 hr shift when I noticed these seemingly harmless bumps that dnt hurt to the touch that jus seemd to be there. The first thing I thot of was an STD. I also shave often. I was so nervous bcuz I recently started messing with a new person that came in to my life. But ur post got me thru my shift n smiling again. Thank u.

this sounds very much like genital warts im afraid to say the lumps are white sumtyms can itch and become inflamed but they r usually whit or grey n stay the same you really should get yourself to your local sexual health clinic because they deal with all things like tht so shud be able to tell u what it is whether its sexual or bacterial. But my gues is warts unfortunately.

Sorry everyone!  I started a new post to discuss this issue...I wasn't thinking and I should have kept discussing in this post.  My apologies.  If you haven't read my recent post, I have seen the doctor...a few times.  She told me it was indeed genital warts and she used liquid nitrogen during that visit.  That made some of the bumps smaller, some disappear, and didn't affect some of the others so I went in for another round of liquid nitrogen just yesterday.  I also told my boyfriend about it.  We were both very upset but not with each other.  We just want to deal with teh issue and stay away from blame since it won't help the situation.  He went to the doctor to get checked as well and he has mulluscum, but the doctor says he doesn't have hpv.  Does anyone know if mulluscum is a form of wart???  Anyways, he had his frozen with liquid nitrogen as well and he has a follow up appt tomorrow (Fri).
I actually have one more question: Does anyone know what the recurrence rate is?  I'm just wondering bc the freezing was incredibly painful and i have some just inside the opening of the vagina as well so I have been referred to a gynocologist to have those ones treated.  I can manage the pain of having them treated this time but I don't know if I can keep this up for the rest of my life!  I'm only 23!  Thats a lot of years of having my vagina frozen...lol.

Once again, sorry for hte delay in response.  Thanks for all of your advice so far.

Try this website, I believe what you are talking about are the sabaceous glands not genital wards.

I hope this puts your mind at ease.

Is it red like around it? I get razor burn, but it's always a little red around the bump. if it's wart's it would't be red , would it?

i agree they dont sound like shaving bumps at all. hard, white, dont hurt and the location all point to genital warts. i hope she is at the dr. and that is why she hasnt posted.

My best friend went through this, and it was genital warts.  Get back to the ob/gyn. These don't sound like shaving bumps to me, and I am a regular shaver too.  Get to the dr.  and don't have unprotected sex in the meantime.  Abstience isn't a bad idea either, at least until this is diagnosed properly and managed.

I have the same thing from what it sounds like, tiny little white looking bumps, had them for a long time and everytime I go to the gyn I'm totally clean...it could be from shaving, I shave everything down there and back there too and have sensitive skin, sometimes I get well the same bumps I get on my eyebrows when I wax them, they are either pus filled or water filled because of the sensitivity of the shaving and waxing, I hate when I get an ingrown, I noticed everytime I do shave there is this one that always come out and I take out the very dry pus from it, it's only comes out when I shave like all the others, if they do come out from the sensitivity especially if it's hot and I sweat down there.

I'd check with a doctor just to be sure but it sounds like it's from the shaving.

hey I have some near the top of mine that are not really noticable. I have had them since before I was sexually active... I think its just a normal variance in skin

you said you do not have std's of any kind but prior to me getting to that part i immediately thought "genital warts" is that possible? your description was very similiar.

What do u use after you shave? I use a cream called bikini zone. I really like it, but if u r like me and have to shave everyday it get's expensive. I have VERY sensitive skin down there, so I go thru MAJOR problems with the bumps! I know how u feel. Not something u want to ask the doc.

ya know, now that I think about it oceans3 might be right. u say there are just there. they don't pop like an ingrown hair. if u don't shave , do u get them? look up wart on the net and see if it's what it looks like

Hope that's not the case, let us know how u r. if u don't think that's what it is, we will put our thinking caps back on.
