The fact that you're having an unusual discharge along with a late period and using unprotected birth control you should see a GYN doctor. The withdrawal method is not reliable. You can discuss other methods of birth control with your GYN doctor.
Usually fungal infections or what we call Candida in the vaginal area produce a cottage cheese like discharge from the vagina that is foul-smelling. The discharge you describe sounds like your period is trying to start. It could also mean that you may have an STD or what we call it a sexually transmitted disease. Either way you need to see a healthcare provider to get checked out and discuss this discharge, see if you were pregnant, and other methods of birth control. Let me know if you have any questions.
Your period does seem to be late, if it doesn't come over the next few days, then you should consider getting a pregnancy test done.
It would also be wise to see your doctor to get a swab taken to identify whether the discharge is a fungal problem that needs treating.
Not pregnant that I know of. I have been using the withdrawal method.
My last period was august 14. I stopped talking birth control about 4 years ago and have been sexual active a few times after my last period unprotected. I just made 22 a couple of months ago.
Probably should see your gyn if this continues, sounds like a yeast infection, the cramps are no doubt due to the period trying to start.
Is there any chance you could be pregnant?
If you are from the US, you cannot buy the Fluconazole over the counter; you need a prescription from a doctor.
If the discharge is not foul-smelling or clumpy, perhaps it is not fungal and I would not suggest using anything until you see a GYN MD.
When was your last period? Have you been sexually active without birth control? How old are you?
A white discharge usually indicates a fungal infection.
You can either make an appointment to see your doctor to get a swab test done to identify the fungus, or you can buy from the pharmacy medication for fungal infections. A white discharge usually is Thrush. You can purchase from the pharmacy a medication called Fluconazole 100mg which is a single dose capsule that you swallow with a glassful of water.
There are creams and pessaries that can be used, but as your period is due any time using a pessary may not be a good idea. Do have a chat with the pharmacist who will be able to advise you.
As your period is due any day now, the cramping is due to that. Take pain relief as directed on the packet and you can also use a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel and placed on your painful back or tummy.
