Why is my tongue piercing hurting so bad?

I just got my tongue pierced 3 days ago and the top ball is making an indent on the top of my tongue. Where the ball is sitting in the indent it really hurts. And whenever I moved my tongue wrong or move the barbell it sends a sharp shooting pain through the left side of my tongue. I have been taking advil like every 2 hours to help with the pain but, it doesnt help. I don't know if I should leave in the barbell for a couple more days to see what happens or if  should get it taken out in the morning.

first of all..is your tongue swollen still? if so you should go back to the place you had it done and have them check it out..but it sounds like the whole thing may be too tight and that could be due to the swelling..
