Womb Enlarged

Hi Medical Community

My friend aged 43 recently suffered from irregular, prolong, heavy period (15 days cycle) and this problem became worst in Sept and takes 10 days to finish the bleeding. This problem caused her feeling very tired, giddy & low blood.She had consulted gynae and was told that her womb was enlarged by 50% but is at normal size and she is still awaiting for the result. Her gynae prescribed her 2 weeks of medicine to stop the bleeding.

Kindly advise is this normal or abnormal?

It sounds like her doctor is seeing what is happening.  Sometimes women do get a condition that involves (I think) the endometrial cells invading the wall of the uterus.  You can learn more about that by using a word-search engine like Google and typing in "enlarged uterus."  Please tell your friend to take some iron, it will help a great deal to reduced the dizziness.
