Worried about Vaginal discharge and more!

Hi,
I am a bit worried, as I have a white discharge that does not have an odor at all; and have never had anything like this.  I recalled starting after having sex with my husband and using the diaphram, which seems to be too big now due to my weight loss (I've lost about 30 pds in 1 year).  Well, it started with itching then I inspected my vagina and saw the white discharge and the lips around it were red and swallen.  It almost looks like the skin has a rash and it the skin has broken and it bleeds as if I had a horizontal cut.  I went to the doctor and gave me Vandazole.  She said it is due to a virus.  I applied as instructed and I don't have a lot of sex to say that this could be the reoccuring problem.  However, it came back again.  I am worried that with all the discharge, the broken skin and redness and swallen it might be somehting other than just a virus.  I will seek another doctor's opinion and ask for another par exam.  Any guidance is greatly appreciated.  I have never had any problems in this area at all, and I'm totally unexperienced!
Thank you!

Did she test you for a yeast infection? BV?
I had something similar after trying the new birth control Nuvaring...once a month I would have increased discharge (no odor), and severe itching. The cracking and bleeding would occur when I scrathe3d (but I really couldn't help it! The itching was INTENSE!). Monistat helped (I thought it was a yeast infection) for a few of those months, but then I started having some pain on intercourse over the course of a few months. My doc did an exam and diagnosed a bacterial infection (which I still believe is from having a plastic/hormone object left in my hoo-ha for a month at a time) and prescribed an antibacterial/antifungal combo.
Double check with your doc or get a second opinion. Definitely let her know that the medication worked temporarily, but didn't solve the problem.

hi.
kinda sound like yeast infection or bv..
i can tell you if it helps that i had symptoms like yours last year for the first time in 32 years and BELIEVE ME I WAS FREAKED OUT!!! i myself would not have sex with my husband often just in case the problem was cause of the sex...
turns out it was yeast infection and i NEVER had the smelly discharge just pretty much the symptoms you describe.
after i saw my gyn she told me that not all women get all the symptoms the same.. if it helps before i was given a pescription for this i used over the counter yeast infection cream but i only applied to the red swollen erea for relief untill i got diflucan from my doctor. with that all was gone.
hope this helps..
