I'm scheduled for a cervical cone biopsy March 9. From the initial biopsy the doctor said the dysplasia was II and III. Since I'm 43 and know I won't have any more children, my doctor said she was going to be more aggressive since there was a spotBirthmarks - pigmented Liver spots Measles, koplik spots - close-up Mongolian blue spots she was concerned about (she said she just touched it and it bled when she did the biopsy). Has anyone had a cone biopsy? I'm nervous about it- how much pain - how long to recover - I see the risks of bleeding afterward, infection, etc. Are those small risks??? I asked if she could just remove my cervix so I don't have to worry again, but she said if I need radiationCystitis - noninfectious Radiation therapy, she needs to keep part of it in place. Why is she mentioning radiationCystitis - noninfectious Radiation therapy - does she know something and not telling me! Thanks so much for comments!
I had to get Paps done every 3 months for about a year after that and they hurt more because of scar tissue. Each test was clear afterwards and I hope it goes easy for you also.
I had a cone biopsy this pass November. I'm 25, and there was a spot of abnormal cells (dysplasia II) on my cervix that my doctor said to have removed to be save. Then to have check ups twice a year to see if it reoccurs. I was put under for the procedure, when I awoke, I was in no pain. I was not given any pain killers, which I was concerned about at first, thinking I would go home then the pain would set in. But, it never did. I was totally fine, in fact I could of returned to work the next day if I really wanted to. I experienced minor bleeding, like it was said before, coffee grounds. I must say, I was really nervous before the procedure, it sounds a lot scarier than it really is. Hope all works out for you:)
