Worried my Nan had a BLACK OUT

by els_24, Sep 08, 2006 12:00AM
PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!
My Nan had a black out on Wednesday, She said she was making a cup of tea around 10am, then she came around and was on the floor. She thinks it took her about 3hours to get to her chair which was only 2feet away. When she was out she also messed her self front and back end. She still isn't feeling very well but wont go to the hospital, the doc came out on Wednesday and said her BP was fine but her heart beat was missing a beat.
What could it have been?
please Help I'm very worried.

That doesn't sound good. If her heartbeat ws skipping, I know there is a name for it .,I just can't think of it. Call the ambulance to come. So sorry to hear that about your nan.

Thank you for getting in contact. Nan can be a Stubborn goat and she will not go! She's still saying she feels light headed and this morning it took her until 11am to get out of bed she just couldn't move.
Thanks again

Arrhythmia or heart murmur can be controlled by medication. It could be something more serious tho.. she may have had a small stroke, may have a blockage somewhere.. who knows..

Sit your Nan down, hold her hands, look into her eyes, and convince her to go to the hospital. She is likely afraid of going in and not coming out again, but tell her how much you want her to find out what is wrong so she can be around you for a long time to come. Amazing what a serious heart to heart can do, especially from a grandchild.
