Worried unusual discharge during period

First of all I am 25 years old.  Never pregnat and I have never had this problem before.  I started my period on Friday and the next I went to the bathroom to pee.  I look down the see this blob hanging down.  It creeped me out.  I grabbed it.  It was fleshy looking narrow and about 5 inches long.  One end was dark with blood the other end was pinkish like flesh.  There were holes on both ends like a tube and I could stick my finger through it.  I am on the pill however i did stop taking the pill for about 2 months.  When I started back taking the pill it was right before I was to start my period stop I skipped a period and Have not had one since the beginning of January until last Friday when I started when I was supposed to.  Please give advice.  I hope its nothing serioud.  I cant afford a Doctor.  I dont have insurance. Thanks

Oh man, the EXACT same thing just happened to me today.. You ever figure out what it was?  I'm 24, never preg.  2 pieces came off on my tampon bright pink fleshy with a vein like thing dark red down the middle with one dark redish end.. If you have any idea what that was, please let me know (IF you see this:)  Thanks

Thanks for the advice.  I did go to the doctor a few weeks before this happened.  Because I was having some abdominal pain and I thought I had BV again.  Doctor said I didnt have BV and could not find nothing wrong.  I will just leave it alone unless it happens again.

It sounds like you have passed a cervical polyp. These are "finger-like" growths that come from your cervix and can come off on their own sometimes during menstruation. They are harmless, altho it is a wise thing to save up some money for a checkup if you don't have coverage or find a public health clinic.

Most likely it was some backed up tissue due to being on and then off the pill and then on the pill. How has your period gone so far, has it been normal since the blob? I think you shouldn't worry unless you start having any of these symptoms, really bad cramps, clotting, abnormal or foul smelling discharge, pelvic pain after your period or a fever with aches and pains. Not to alarm you but if there is a chance it was a pregnancy, then try to go a clinic that offers free health care and get checked out. If by chance you had a miscarriage, you don't want any tissue to remain in your uterus because it will cause an infection or more serious problems later. Good luck and get to a doctor if you notice anything else out of the ordinary.
