Yaz BC and depression

I have been on Yaz bc pills since May.  When I first started taking them I noted some mild depression but when I started taking Prozac that went away.  I missed too many pills last month so I just stopped taking them for a month rather than have to throw out a whole pack- I ended up having tons of breakthrough bleeding and clots so I started a new pack this last Sunday.  I am really struggling with feeling very down and emotional and am wondering if going off the pill and then back on has screwed up my hormones or something- the last time I felt like this was when I was pregnant, and I know I am not pregnant now.  I just can't stop crying.  I am still on the Prozac and also Wellbutrin and they seem to help for a week or so and then I feel like this again.

Thanks for the input- that makes sense that the bc pills may not be the best option for me.  I can't take other kinds because progesterone causes me to get a rash all over and Yaz is the only kind that doesn't.  I may ask my gynecologist about other options out there.

Stopping and starting both the Yaz and Prozac separately or together can BOTH cause bouts of depression.

Birth control, controls your hormones and going off can make them go haywire for a little while.  We all know that surges/downfalls in hormones can make us women moody and whoknowzit.  :)

Well than if you had symptoms of depression prior to taking the Prozac and you go off them, those symptoms can naturally come back.

Hey. Depression is a side effect of many bc pills, usually side effects are not good It means your body is reacting to something in the pills. Sometimes it goes away and sometimes not.  With many drugs if someone experiences side effects they either try something else or stop taking it.  I do not believe it is a good idea to take other drugs to
