Yeast Infection symptoms reoccuring after treatment.

by jumpinaround, Jul 16, 2006 12:00AM
I have had yeast infections in the past due to Antibiotics I was taking so I understand what a yeast infection is, what it feels like, and how to get rid of one. Though I am not on antibiotics currently, I started getting symptoms for a yeast infections last Thursday. I took Monistat 1 on Friday evening and I am still feeling quite itchy and irritated. I know it says in the instructions that relief may take up to 3 days and complete relief up to 7 days but I generally feel relief within hours of taking Monistat. Is it dangerous to take another Monistat 1 treatment only 2 days after taking one? Should I just hold off a few more days and then take another one? I also have some "external vulvar cream" to help with itching but will that just make the symptoms go away without actually treating the infection? Thanks for your help.

I have heard that the one day treatments are usually that effective.  I would reccommend using a 5 or 7 day treatment.  Or you could have your doctor call you in the pill its called diflucan.
