Yeast Infections?

by sweetie92998, Nov 13, 2006 12:00AM
Hello! I have a question. A little less then a year ago I had a really bad ear infection and the doctor gave me anti biotics that I was on for a total of 2 ½ months (stupid I know that now) well, I had problems with yeast infections during and after (went to the doctor many times) to this day I feel like I am always checking if I have a yeast infection and have been getting very very mild ones often (maybe every other month) Mild meaning no discharge on my underwear but inside my vagina (I check often to see if I have a yeast infections, a little crazy about it ever since my little problem a year ago) is some white discharge, and sometimes I have a little red irritation, nothing burning or itching. I am not sure if it in a yeast infection and usually goes away on its own. A little white and irritation isn’t normal is it? Could I be imbalance for almost a year? Could it be that I am always checking and irritating it myself? Thanks!

Okay. Yeast is harmless, unless it's annoying--in which case, treat it. Jeez, if you have to *check* for it, and aren't even sure if you have it, then why are you so worried? My feeling is, unless it's itching and driving you crazy, leave it alone and stop thinking about it. What you're experiencing is probably your normal discharge and possibly (probably) irritation from your constant checking. If you can't stop, talk to your doctor about medication to help you control your anxiety and the checking/worrying.

Could also be just vaginitis especially if it is going away on its own. Vagisil wouldn't hurt.
