Yeast infection question

by nina2008, Jan 24, 2006 12:00AM
I had a yeast infection awhile back. My symptoms were, burning, discharge with small clumps, itching. All those symptoms are gone. A day after I took Difulcan(and before diflucan, i used monistat 3), my boyfriend entered me without a condom for a split second. Just like one or two thrusts. We haven't had oral sex yet because i'm worried that i may have gave him my yeast infection and i haven't allowed him to perform oral on me either. He has not experienced any symptoms but i was reading on the net that males usually don't. I'm worried that I could get an oral yeast infection if i perform oral on him. Is that possible even if he is showing no symptoms? Is is possible for a female to have a yeast infection and not know it or show any symptoms, no itching, burning or anything? My discharge looks normal. Its clear/whitish and it has no clumps or smell or anything. My BC pills causes my discharge to be thicker than it use to be but its smooth with no clumps. I hope i'm not confusing anyone. Thanks.

Just an fyi - we have yeast in our bodies, including our digestive tracts, at least some - if not all - of the time. A yeast infection is simply an overgrowth of the yeast normally in our vaginas. And even if you did get a yeast infection orally (thrush), it's no big deal.

I'm not sure why you'd think you still had the infection, or why you think your bf would have a yeast infection as well. But don't worry - you're fine, and can go back to having oral sex/whatever. I've certainly had all kinds of sex during yeast infections, over quite a few years, and we've all been fine :-)

Are yeast infections a symptom of pregnancy?

Yes it is possible to get a YI from giving your bf head!!!! Dealing with it right now. I had a YI and didnt no that I had it.My bf and I continued our sex life as normal and one day my tounge started having little white bumps on it. Then it progressed to what it is now. And it does take time to heal. Took diflucan 1 1/2 weeks ago. My advise to you is dont do it till you are completly "extra" yeast free.  P.S. I had no symptoms just like you.
