Yeast infection trouble? Please help!

Hi. I've been having loads of thick white discharge. It will disappear for a day or two and then come back. My doctor is convinced I dont have one. She checked my paptest a day the discharge wasnt visible. This has happened two times. I got checked when discharge wasnt there. My doctor says a yeast infection NEEDS to have itching. I dont itch. I burn when I pee sometimes. Sex burns and my doctor tells me its just normal discharge. BNut for almost a year now this discharge has been getting way way worse. Its whie and thick and has an off kind of sweet smell. Please help. This is destroying my sex life. ANd I dont know what to do.

Hi there.  I would tend to agree with your doctor.  Even a scant amount of discharge can be swabbed and looked at to determine exactly what it is and she is not finding yeast.  Women do tend to have different types of discharge.  Thick, creamy could be indicative of needing to cut back on sugar.  I'd eat probiotic yogurt (I like Dannon, Activia) or take a probiotic tablet.  This helps with the ph balance of the vagina.

In regards to the above comments, Urinary tract infections are INFECTIONS and are to be treated with antibiotics.  You'd not be able to stand it if you had one any length of time as the pain is not like burning in the area which I suspect you are describing but burning up into the body along the uretha to the bladder.  Very doubtful this is what you are having.

Sometimes when our area is irritated, urine will touch that area and burn.  Is that what you are talking about?

I guess you could always treat with one day Monostat which is over the counter if you believe you have a yeast infection that your doctor is not diagnosing.  You use it at night before you go to bed and it takes two days to work.  There are vagisil wipes as well which help with fungal issues.  NEVER douche as that compounds the problems.  And try to wear cotton panties that you change often especially when damp from exercising or something.  good luck

Regarding the burning when peeing, i think you might have a urinary tract infection but i am not sure what's with the discharge. I had the same problem(as you) before and it was terrible. Somehow, i managed to get rid of it by drinking a ton of warm water( i drank a bottle and 2 cups) and peeing a lot cause i didn't want to tell my mom. It went away after 3 days. Hope this helps and get well soon! :)
