Yellowish skin around naval after tubal ligation

by Raine9, Jun 19, 2007 12:00AM
I had a tubal ligation last Friday.  I noticed today that the skin around my naval is yellowish.  About 1/2 inch to an inch or around my naval.  Is this normal?  Anyone else experience this?

It could be the Betadyne they use to wash off your skin before inserting the laparascope.  If so, it will wash off after a while.

Thanks!

My friend mentioned this too.  I just get very paranoid about these things.  I start thinking infection and other horrible stuff.  I guess I'll call my doctor if it continues to bother me.  They just get so busy in that office that I feel reluctant to call.

Thanks again.

Hi there. It sounds like a bruise that is fading. Totally normal for the bilateral tubal ligation. It is from the puncture sites and is a sign that it is fading away and healing. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
