a painful lump in groin area

I am a 42 year old gal.  I was sleeping last night, and all of a sudden, a sharp pain in the area where my inner leg meets my torso. There is a lump there that is very sore to the touch and it hurts to walk...I just had a PAP last week...all normal.  Should I make an appointment with my doctor?  What could it be?

It's possible it could be from the Pap smear itself.  Definitely check with the doctor though.

Sounds like an inflamed lymph node. Usually flares with an infection. Do you have a fever at all? Call your doctor's office, see if they want to check on it.
