ache over right ovary during periods

Hi,

I have been having an ache over my right ovary every month for a while now, and its during my period, it actually is sore to lean up against the kitchen counter to do dishes, didnt think much about it, but now Iam worried,  it does go away after the period is over, I know I should make an apt to see my OB/GYN but I just wanted to arm myself first.
ANY THOUGHTS?

Paula

You should  definitely be checked. I have the same thing and it is just cysts on my ovaries. Nothing major. The pain can sometimes be lessened by taking a low dose b.c pill. You should definitely see a doctor though to rule out any potential serious conditions

You should definitely be checking with your ob/gyn and should not be worrying about cancer.  It is more than likely functional cysts that are bursting or endometriosis.  Good luck.
