I'm sure the doctor also meant to say that you should not be smoking.  It's unhealthy for everyone but particularly you with your symptoms.  smoking is very uncool in my part of the world----  smells bad, looks bad, and just not something one decides to make a habit of on purpose.  You can stop now with no repercussions such as withdrawel so please do this.  good luck

Hello,
Left-sided chest pain can have several causes like Costochondritis, Tietze’s syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Heart disease like Angina and Myocardial Infarction, Heartburn or Gastroesophageal reflux, and Anxiety.  In your case, it can be due to cigarette smoking also. it can produce heart disease and cancer is now common knowledge. Many are not aware that smoking also may produce chest pain. Smoking increases the heart rate, blood pressure and work load upon the heart. If there is pre-existing coronary artery disease, but with adequate blood flow at rest, the increased work produced by smoking, as well as the increase in concentration of carbon monoxide carried by the blood in place of oxygen, may be enough to produce chest pain.

Please take an appointment from a physician and get yourself thoroughly examined so that a confirmatory diagnosis can be made. Treatment will depend on the diagnosis.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hello and welcome.  Well, it certainly sounds like smoking isn't working out for you.  Why don't you cease doing it?  7 days won't have done any damage but if you get into the habit, then it will.  so, please listen to your body and stop smoking.  good luck
