after 13 years since complete hyst noticed some vaginal bleeding.

Last night as I was getting ready for bed, usually I will use the resroom and brush my teeth etc but last night I used the restroom and went into a panic. no blood in the toilet but LOTS of bright red blood on the tissue I thought maybe it was from my bladder/uretha so I checked it out used another clean tissue and still more blood, was hard to tell where it was coming from, so I took a qtip and swabbed the area around my uretha... no blood hmmm I then inserted a clean qtip into my vaginal area and bright red blod appeared on the qtip I then to double check swabbed the entire vaginal area there was still blood but nothing was oozing or leaking out of me, it was/is like it is just pooling in the vagina. this morning I checked again both before and after urinating and the same thing showed up this has me scared and confused sine my hyst was in 98 and I have had 0 problems since then, the last time I had any sort of sexual contact was like 8 years ago. and now my lower abdomen hurts and I can feel "pain" inside vagina, it's like a period but there are no parts in there to have one!
Can someone PLEASE read and HELP.    thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it can be due to post menopausal bleeding. It can be due to hormonal imbalance, endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, cancer , vaginal ,cervical or ovarian cancer. I suggest you to consult a gynecologist and get an ultrasound uterus and swab sample from the vagina done.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
