alot of blood my first time

ok soo this weekend I had sex for the first time. Now the last time my boy friend fingered me i bled alittle for about two days so as far as i knew that was my hymen breaking, but this weekend i bled alotttt! My boyfriend is pretty big so that could have been why i bled so much but when i was cleaning my self up i noticed that i had clots in the blood, and that had me a little worried. But i stoped bleeding once we were done, it didnt last like i expecteded it too due to how much blood there was. If any one can help me figure out what it is that would be great... I know i should talk to my mom about it but shes having a hard time excepting my 18th birthday right now and i know that this would make her upset. I dont know what happened, if i tore somthing it would still be bellding right? pleassee help
