Hi,

I am not a medical doctor but chestpains, on their own or in conjunction with headaches, can be the sign of something very serious or leading up to something of a serious nature.  How is your wifes blood pressure?  There are machines at many pharmacies and supermarkets that will take this measurement for free and it would be useful to see if it falls within a 'normal' range.  Has your wife experienced any other symptoms such as arm/jaw/back pain, fatigue, or trouble sleeping?

Because your wife has pain in her left side along with burping include she may be suffering from indigestion/heartburn or an ucler.  Does her pain get worse after eating or drinking?  Have you tried an OTC acid reducer or something like Tums to see if that helps?

Believe it or not but indigestion is also a common symptom in woman leading up to a heart attack (occurs in approximately 40% of cases).  The fact your wife has also been experiencing bad headaches is also worrisome (I am assuming these started about the same time as the chest pains).  I think you really need to get your wife to  a doctor for a proper diagnosis.  A simple exam will either give you both piece of mind and the doctor can prescibe something that will help with her symptoms or it could potentially save her life.

I have a hiatal hernia that can cause wicked chest pains and heartburn.  If it gets really bad, I also have headaches.  She definitely should get it checked out.  I know I was scared s***less the first time I had the chest pains without knowing the cause.  Heart attack symptoms, digestive disorders and anxiety can all mimic one another.  Better to be safe.
