baseline mammogram and recent breastfeeding

by chayahindy, Jul 20, 2005 12:00AM
is there any well-documented research available indicating how long after breastfeeding would be an appropriate time for a baseline mammogram?  can you provide me with specific sources? thank you.

If you're in your 20s, a mammogram would be of little value regardless of breastfeeding. Otherwise, I usually recommended to my patients that they wait a minimum of 3 months. I'm unaware of any studies in that regard.
