I took birth control while breast feeding, and I had a period.  I had to quit taking it because it was shutting down my liver and causing me to have EXTREME bearhing problems.  I couldnt even talk without my breathing being really messed up.  I couldnt even talk straight.  I think it was the low hormones.  The birth control started with a J.  What kind will you be taking?  Everyones body is different, so you might not have the same problems I did.  Good luck to you, and congratulations on having a baby.

you might, howevever, most doctors reccomend the mini pill with breastfeeding. that might not be enough hormone changes to create a period.
