Hi all,
Thanks for all your comments.  My periods are almost on time.  Every 30 days.  I wanted to see a positive test, and I am very disappointed in the result.  I guess waiting for another couple more days will be the best option.

With my first child, I had a pregnancy blood test done.  It came
up negative.  Twelve days later when my period was due, I took
a HPT and it was BFP.  If the pregnancy blood test is done too
early, it is not as accurate.

Blood tests are normally very accurate. I would wait till after you should have AF around April 26th (depending on how many days your cycle is).  If you havent had AF by then take another blood test.

Well, it could have been too early but the only way to know is to test again in a few days, maybe even wait a week.

Yeah, it is possible you ovulated later, implantation took longer, etc. Generally a blood test is accurate, but you were kind of that fine line of detecting impantation.

If you have a qualitative test done, it is simply a positive or negative test.  It only measures down to 25 (in some cases 50) BHCG subunits.  This is no better than a good HPT.  So it can miss a few very early pregnancies.

If you have a QUANTITATIVE test done, it measures typically down to < 5, so it will not miss an early pregnancy.

Most offices do the qualitative BHCG, as it is cheaper and if done at the proper time, perfectly fine for a simple yes or no answer.  If #s are needed, quantitative tests are done to follow a rise or fall.

As with any pregnancy test, blood or not, if negative and you don't get your period, go back to see the doctor.  You may need another one.

Hopefully I got the one that didn't detect the pregnancy in early state. At least I like to believe that way.

I really appreciate all your valuable comments.

My sister went through invetro 3x before she became pregnant. I hated seeing her have heart broken when she would get so excited to only be crushed. Don't give up if it's not the answer you dreamed for! Keep praying and keep trying! She now has 2 beautiful babies. Best of luck to you!!
