Hi wel first congrats on the pregnancy. From what Ive read and been told u can feel braxton hicks this early, but it shouldnt be painful its more of a muscle stretch getting ready for whats to come. If ur feeling alot of pain and u have a history of pre labour (?) I think u should go to labour ward to get checked out, especially if theres blood. Try and go as soon as u can. U know ur body better than us, go with ur instinct if it doesnt feel right go, even the slightest doubt but my opnion is just get checked so u can know if its something or nothing.
All the best keep in touch :-)
how far do u have to be in ur pregnancy for braxton hicks?
I think realisitically could be from maybe 28 weeks maybe 30? Its the later stages anyway that ur supposed to feel it getting quite stronger and then prob 34 weeks where it would get quite stong, I had them really strong around I think 37 38 weeks after intercourse, and I heard those ones are the ones that are really getting u ready. But like above I also heard that u can get mild ones what seems early but they should more be like the odd one here and there I would think not painful. I hope Mary is ok
i was having some cramps lastnight.. they come and go.. very strong.. I don't know if its the stress im going through or what..
How many weeks u said 27? hmm could be a bit early for strong ones. Are u having bleeding? Stress could be causing it yea I agree. I think keep a close eye on it anything too painful go labour ward, and mention it at ur next antenatal.
I had braxton hicks contractions with all 3 of children. I noticed them as early as 9 weeks with my third. They are totally painless and just feel like the muscles are tensing. Of course at 9 weeks they weren't very intense at all and weren't frequent at all either. But it was my third and I knew what it was so I wasn't worried. Each person is different but I know that with all 3 pregnancies for me the braxton hicks grew more intense and more frequent until they ultimately became the real deal with pain etc but for the last two pregnancies the pain was not as bad as it was with my first labour and quite tolerable to the point where I did not need any pain relief during the much quicker labours (around 3 hours for #2 and #3 compared to around 7 hours with #1). As long as they aren't too frequent and are not painful I wouldn't worry.
I'm 35 weeks and I haven't felt any that I know of. I think it differs with every woman.
That's exactly right - it differs from every woman and sometimes from pregnancy to pregnancy within the same woman. When I first started getting braxton hicks with my first pregnancy I freaked out and 2 people I knew that were pregnant the same time as me didn't know what I was talking about. I knew better once I had my second baby and even better again by my third!!!
