brown discharge

I just had a period the week before christmas that was normal and now this morning I started again but this time it seem brownish in color like old dried blood and a little bits of clumps in it. I am 41 years old not on any birth control and have not had sex in a long time. Any ideas on what could be going on with me?

I have had this occasionally too following AF - I always understood that it was normal, just the body cleaning itself...

Sometimes i will stop my pd for like a day then the brown comes. I think it's normal. I've done it for years.

No, I wouldn't say a lot just yet as it just started this morning, just enough to cause me concern so far, having lower back pain as well with it. I have had the brownish color before at the very tail end of my periods, just never a week after the end of one. just had my 41st birthday and was thinking maybe it could be a symptom of perimenopause.

It does seem a little late after the period, but that happens from time to time with me.  I think it's just old blood leftover from the period.  Is it alot?
