burning during urinating

hie
I have very recently started to feel a burning discomfort, every time I urinate in the last 24 hrs, but I am not sure what the cause or right treatment is, I am sure I don't not have an STD  as I have not been sexually active in the last 6 month's & even then, I always use a condom. I am quite healthy I have no other symptoms at all, urination pattern is same as usual no extra trips to the toilet no abdominal discomfort etc at a, just a burning sensation when urinating, and the sensation gone once I finish urinating, what might be the cause and how can this be treated would prefer no tot go to my doctor yet, is there anything over the counter I can try first please thank you

thank you ever so much for all your advice, its all very helpfull, i  am 28 & unfortunately i don't actaully drink alchohol at all, no particular reason just never grew on me. Also unfortunately i live in England & they don't selll such things at UTI test stips, AZO, or anything close to that over the counter, but I will definately try the cranberry in the mean time, if it hasn't cleared on improved by monday i will go see my doctor, thank you Anne520 & spotfree you have both been very helpful

telling her misinformation is just wrong. you cant go around having a beer while you have a possible uti. do you even know how dangerous an untreated uti can be? yes, I am a know it all. i spent weeks bedridden because my kidney got infected from a uti. hell, i was denied insurance because they said i was borderline with heart failure. of course im going to speak up if i see some ignoramus telling someone to ignore it all and have "a few beers". what kind of advice is that? are you a teen or something?

You can have your story, but drinking one beer doesnt numb anything, drinking one beer will not make it worse she doesnt even have to drink the beer i just was just posting what helped me today. sounds to me you r taking this way to personal or maybe u r a know it all dont know. i do know we r here to share exp. n thats what i did. she should see a dr or try what ever works

beer has sugar and yeast and the alcohol alone makes the acidity worse. you aren't feeling bad because the alcohol is numbing you - thus no pain while peeing. that doesn't mean the uti is gone. having a uti is serious, it can affect the kidneys, which can then lead to heart failure. Telling her to drink beer for it is irresponsible. Drinking a lot of water flushes out the kidneys and helps clear out the bladder. Drinking beer only masks a problem.

the beer does help u can ask your dr. it helps flush out the bacteria same for kidney stones. One beer cant hurt it really helps me right away n i have heard this from others. Cranberry seems to take longer i myself drank cranberry juice all day at work no relief ! as soon as i got home i open a beer n went to pee n no burning good luck

drop the beer - it makes it worse. try cranberry juice (cranberries latch onto bacteria in our bladder and flush it out). You can also get some UTI strips from the store. No prescription needed. They have AZO that helps relieves the pain too, that's over the counter as well.

I started the same thing again today, I seem to get burning when I pee if I wear a pad or maybe it is lack of water but I have this everynow n again. I dont know how old u r but drinking a beer helps me, really it works as quick as I have a few drinks. I think it may be a bacteria or urinary infection which ever the beer really does work. Let me know!
