It isn't normalNormal saline flush, and your doc should have asked more questions and referred you to a physical therapist or a doc who deals with pelvic pain issues. I would read up on vulvodynia, vulvar vestibulitis and vaginismus. These are all pain conditions that can cause the kind of discomfort you experienced. Sometimes we are just born with over sensitive vaginal/pelvic floor muscles. A knowledgable pt could really help you learn to relax those spasming muscles.
