It is called Chincual...it is an old mexican wives tale that if you eat hot sauce your kid may get this as a skin condition.

Who is 'they' telling you of these side-effects of eating salsa or hot sauce while pregnant?

I have not heard this before. Does this mean all the people in countries that have hot & spicy foods all have children with skin defects? Hardly. Sounds like an old wives' tale to me!
