can you get pregnant whilst on the pill?

hi. I was just wondering, is it possible to get pregnant whilst on the pill? Especially if you have missed a couple by more than 12 hours and you are now dis-continuing it. Thanks for comments.

B/C pills are only 99% proof, so yes it is possable even when you take them as directed. My best friend just got pregnant while on the pill and she took it as directed.

My friend got pregnant with all 3 of her kids while on the pill. She just had her tubes tied. :) Figured that might work!!

Yes you can!  My frined got prego just recently when on the pill and she took it at the same time everyday and never missed a day....nothing is 100% unless you aren't having sex!  Yikes if you don't want to get prego.  if youwant to try harder on being more protected.  Try the pill and condoms.

If taken correctly, they're 99% effective. However, some newere research has shown that they're NOT as effective if you're overweight.

This is not about the pill but about the patch...it is also not 99% effective.  My friend was on the patch and now she has a 4 week old son.  Also I have a few other friends that became pregnant while on the pill.

yes you can have a chance of getting pregnant while on the pills but you have more of a chance not to( 99%)

I got pregnant while on levelen. I had switch from taking it in the morning to the night and poof I didn't have a period the next month.

Im on the micro pill (cause im nursing).   I havent had a period all year, so my doc told me its impossible that Im ovulating.  so far no problem with the pill :)

i would like to know if you are on the contraceptive pill and and are due for your period and have entered one day of the sugar pills and have unprotected sex can you get pregnant? Is you fertility rate higher or lower at that time?

You are equally protected at all times on the pill, regardless of whether you're on your placebo pills or active pills. That's because the pill works by inhibiting ovulation, and if you're not ovulating, you can't get pregnant. To answer your question directly, the pill is 99% effective if taken correctly, so the chances of you becoming pregnant from that experience are very, very slim :-) You have nothing to worry about.

I have been on the pill since my 6 week checkup after my second baby was born.  So I've been on it now for 15 solid months.  I've forgotten a few times here and there, but never more than two days.  That was months ago now.  I always take it at the same time every day and have not forgotten to for the last 7 months.  But this month I never got my period!  YIKES!  My periods have always been a couple days late on this pill and only last 2-4 days, but to not get it at all is not normal.  So I took a pregnancy test when I was 6 days late and it came out negative.  So what's the deal????  Could the test be wrong or is my body going wacky?  I have been pretty stressed out lately, but this is just weird.  I have two boys at home and my pregnancies were both very easy.  Not a lot of morning sickness.  So I don't really feel any different now.  Please can someone help!?  I am suppossed to start a new pack of pills today and am very hesitant to do so because of this.  What should I do?????
